Theragen Bio won the Pharmaceutical Bio Grand Prize in the economic category at the ‘15th 2023 Seoul Success Awards’ held at the Grand Hyatt Seoul Grand Ballroom in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul at 6 p.m. on the 20th.

Theragen Bio, established in 2009, is a bio company specializing in genome analysis and gene-based prediction and diagnosis.

Theragen Bio has both genome analysis and customized new drug development capabilities, which are the core capabilities of precision medicine, which is emerging as a paradigm for future medicine.

Samuel Hwang, CEO of Theragen Bio, said, “We are developing a vaccine against cancer and are working for future health.”

In the field of genome analysis, we are recognized domestically and internationally for our best analytical capabilities, including the completion of Korea's first human genome map. Recently, we have applied artificial intelligence (AI) technology to genome big data to conduct multi-omics analysis, secure a new drug development platform, and discover biomarkers. We are expanding our business areas not only to diagnosis but also to prevention and treatment areas. The customized cancer vaccine being developed independently is about to undergo clinical trials.

Theragen Bio attracted investment from Lotte Group in the field of personal genome analysis and established Theragen Health through physical division.

This is a strategy to focus on research and development (R&D) and maximize efficiency in the consumer marketing field, and is considered the biggest success story in the domestic bio investment and collaboration field this year.
