Theragen Bio Launches Skin DTC Genetic Test with Amorepacific
On May 13, Theragen Bio (CEO and President Samuel(Taesoon) Hwang) announced that the company will be launching a direct to consumer (DTC) dermatological genetic testing service with Amorepacific’s highly functional skincare brand, IOPE.
Using more DTC genetic test items recently allowed by the government, Theragen Bio developed the tailored genetic skincare service IOPE LAB GENO INDEX together with Amorepacific.
This service can provide efficient skincare solutions by examining customers’ personal skin types and conditions through scientific analyses such as genetic testing and precision measurements.
This service includes a DTC genetic test for 26 genes, including 13 skin genes for skin aging, dark spots/freckles, pigmentation, tanning response, stretch marks, and acne as well as 13 healthcare genes.
Since 2016, Theragen Bio has been performing research together with the Amorepacific R&D Center, acquired a skin genome index for 1,700 Korean women, reflected additional skin data from 5,800 customers of IOPE LAB, and improved the test’s accuracy.
